Detroit, Michigan News Releases

(Detroit.CityRegions.Com, November 09, 2014 ) Detroit, MI – The Queen + Adam Lambert tour has swept though the U.S. with lightning speed. This was the summers biggest surprise and it has attracted a lot of attention on social media. The fans on social media are known as the Glamberts and they have taken control over covering every aspect of the tour including Youtube video performances, concert notes, fan art, fan based products and also reporting on every minute detail. The Queen tour has since travelled to Australia, Asia and now is circling back to the UK where it will no doubt come to a close.
The coverage on the social media front is thrilling and exciting. The fans will keep up with the bands latest bits of news, and offer pictures taken while on tour, and have even strung videos together of complete performances of the band to recreate an entire concert performance. While all of this is going on there are spotty news items popping up here and there on major newspapers. Some of the coverage has been less than flattering in Michigan and in Las Vegas. After reviewing this content the question came up as to whether or not real journalists were even sent to view the concerts in person.
This sort of flim flam approach to journalism shows a lot of disrespect to the people they serve. The performances were nothing short of groundbreaking in the sense of resurrecting classic rock with a new fresh face in pop culture stardom ala Adam Lambert. The tour has surprised even the harshest rock critics and celebrities like Howard Stern and several classic rock websites. This is a new chapter for Queen who tragically lost their lead singer, Freddy Mercury, to aids back in the 1990’s. The band tried to reform with another singer, Paul Rogers, with very limited success.
Social media is taking the concept of rock and roll, glam, hyper enthusiastic Glamberts and is creating a complete pop music experience. The best part is that there is no waiting for magazines, publishing dates as the news is delivered in real time as it happens. This is changing the face of fan and artist appreciation and has brought the relationship to new heights. Nothing like this has ever happened before and they are completely side stepping the avenues of traditional media. The celebration belongs to the artist and the fans and the journalists are the ones watching along the sidelines.
