Hansen Kids, LLC , brings you a new premium diaper that is better for your baby & for the planet
(Detroit.CityRegions.Com, September 15, 2015 ) Rockford, Michigan -- Eco-friendly diaper trends have been growing rapidly for the past years. With more and more parents wanting to follow the "green" route, disposable diaper manufacturers, through the years have been very active in creating their unique and innovative take on modern nappies.
Among the many qualities of eco diapers, being "chlorine-free" is among the most hyped. The TCF or totally chlorine free quality is said to be the first step in creating a less toxic product. This is a crucial part in the manufacturing process because burning of chlorine-based chemical compounds forms dioxin – a group of chemicals also known as some of the "most toxic chemicals known to science."
Owner – operated company, Andy Pandy is one of most trusted brands when it comes to toxic chemical-free diapers. The company guarantees that Andy Pandy bamboo diapers are 100% chlorine-free. Co-owner, Jessica Hansen explains why and how.
"As you can see, Andy Pandy diapers are plain white in color and some people may ask, how is it "chlorine-free" when the materials seem to have undergone bleaching processes?," says Hansen.
"Our diapers' top and back sheets are made up of bamboo. Unlike some of the wood products used in other diapers that go through a chemical bleaching process, ours undergo a mechanical process."
"Many manufacturers make use of the multi phase bleaching process for the reason that it is less time consuming and therefore, more cost- efficient. It is, however not eco friendly because of the chemicals involved in processing and bleaching."
"Being an eco company, we opted for the mechanical process wherein the bamboo is cooked and crushed. It is then treated with biological enzymes and combed out. While this process is very time consuming and expensive, it is guaranteed safe and eco-friendly," Hansen explains.
As mentioned, being TCF or totally chlorine free is only a step towards becoming eco-friendly. Aside from being 100% chlorine free, Andy Pandy diapers are also free of alcohols, preservatives, phthalates, latex, PVC, and TBT. These are the common chemicals found in regular disposable diapers. The company even outsources bamboos only from naturally grown bamboo plantations. This means the bamboos used in Andy Pandy diapers are safe from chemical fertilizers and/or pesticides.
Jessica Hansen reminds the public that Andy Pandy's being TCF and other toxic chemical free is not just for the hype or merely following the trend. Hansen Kids, LLC created Andy Pandy to help both the users and the planet in many ways.
